When trying to put together a new style, many people look at what other people have done in the past. Of course, there are some great styles out there to pull from, but there have also been some very strange, awkward, and down right bad style choices that have been made as well.
In Japan, there has been a style called ganguro. Most people who see this trend find it very odd. It almost looks like a cross between a Barbie doll and a clown. The basis of it is overly done pale pink (think almost white) eye shadow done all around the eyes, dark (and thick) eye shadow, and the same extremely pale pink lipstick. This is a seriously creepy fashion trend!
When looking at footwear, there are a ton of trends that make you go "huh?". With everything from shoes that don’t cover your feet to high heels that look like high chairs, there’s no end in sight! But one of the strangest of these is the cardboard shoe. Yes, a shoe that is made from cardboard. This is not a trend to follow if you ever get rain or snow in your area. Even if it gets a little moist, you may want to reconsider.
Even if you are a tech geek, you may find flash drive jewelry a little strange. Though the jewelry itself may be gorgeous, it is also hiding something. It hides a flash drive. Yes, you can port your files with you, and not worry about losing the drive. These come in a variety of styles and also sizes of the flash drive.
Though these only represent a few of the world’s strange fashion trends, they are some of the strangest. Finding things that confuse you, put you in awe, or are just plain shocking is fairly common when it comes to new fashions. Sometimes they stick, other times they end up in the recycling.
